About Us
The Society of Spooky Ladies is a (not so secret) society for anyone whose felt like they never quite fit in, those who find joy in the weirdness of life and comfort in things that others turn away from (Yes, I know about the serial killer podcast you listen to when you need to relax).
The Society provides a welcoming space where women are free to explore their spirituality, learn new skills, and find comfort in being the sparkling little weirdo that we know you can be!
Yes, I know this is easier said than done.
There are many forces working to roll back our rights. Many who identify as female are not able to safely or openly live the life they desire. We want you to know you are not alone. We are here for you.
Lady Smartypants (our leader) and the other members are here to hold space and offer resources as you work to unleash the inner power that has been smothered by social norms, gender rolls, and organized religion. This journey is unique to each of us and we are here for ALL of it.

At the Society of Spooky Ladies our goal is to create a community where ALL women (in the most inclusive definition of the term) feel valued, powerful, and loved for being your wonderful, weird self. We are over being measured against an unreasonable standard that was created by and for the benefit of men. Thus, our mission is to be the spooky you want to see in the world. We will no longer be made to feel ashamed for liking things that society tells us are gross, macabre, weird, or just unlady like. We recognize that this will make many people, men specially, a bit uncomfortable and we are totally okay with that.
The Society is a community of women who are strong, independent, intelligent, loving, sarcastic, and kindhearted with a dark and twisted sense of humor.
We are deeply passionate about all things spooky.
We wear black, a lot.
We unapologetically adorn our home with “Halloween” decorations all year long.
We watch slasher movies to relax.
We collect pretty rocks, bones, and bugs.
We craft. We create. We cook. We hex. We will put you in a jar.
But most importantly, we are done being nice. We are going to take up space. We are going to be loud. We are going to live our lives the way we want, because we’ve tried doing it the other way and we don’t like it.
